A hearty, flavorful sandwich featuring savory ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and melted provolone cheese in a warm hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Reduce heat to low and place the provolone cheese slices on top. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  4. Spoon the beef and veggie mixture into hoagie rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

For a shortcut, use pre-sliced onions and peppers found in the grocery store. You can also use different types of cheese like American, Swiss, or cheddar for a varied flavor.
